WASHINGTON: US Vice President Mike Pence sharply criticized Thursday the theft of US technology by China. He called on Google to immediately stop the development of its application "Dragonfly" facilitating the tracking of searches on the Internet.

In a speech, Mr Pence said that business leaders were thinking twice before entering the Chinese market "whether it involved giving up their intellectual property or encouraging the oppression of Beijing ".
Google sued for unwanted tracking of phone locations
"Others must follow," he added. "For example, Google should immediately end the development of the" Dragonfly "application that will strengthen the Communist Party's censorship and compromise the privacy of Chinese customers."
