Philips accidentally leaks a new exterior version of his Hue LightStrip

Philips has a new outdoor version of its smart LightStrip in the works. Created under the name Outdoor LightStrip, the product appeared in a post since removed from the Philip Hue Netherlands website, spotted by HomeKit News .

As the name suggests, the Outdoor LightStrip is a water resistant version of the LightStrip for outdoor use. It's still a Hue light, so you'll still be able to integrate it into your smart home setup, but with the added benefits of being able to use it outside your home.

And unlike the original LightStrip, the Outdoor version has a diffuse coating instead of just the bare LEDs, so you do not have to hide it under a shelf or cabinet like the inside version. There is no tape on the back. Instead, the outer LightStrip is attached via its screwed clips.

The Outdoor LightStrip will apparently appear in sizes of two meters and five meters, but there is no word yet on the price or the release date (either in the Netherlands or in the States -United).
