Pixel 3 already has a serious camera problem

Yesterday, the first units Pixel 3 and 3 XL began to reach customers. And right away, some homeowners began to notice a problem familiar with their devices.

Credit: Tom's GuideAlthough Google's new camera produces phenomenal images, it seems that it's not always recording them. Reddit commentators have pointed out the problem and even some critics have mentioned that their units have also been affected.

It seems that the inability to backup occurs when an image is quickly taken then that the phone is paused or that the user immediately backs up. Sometimes the preview of the last taken image disappears even in real time.

But what makes the Pixel 3 camera backup bug particularly frustrating is that it's not new. In fact, the Google Camera app would have caused similar problems dating back to the Nexus 5X and 6P, according to some users.

My colleague Mark Spoonauer and I have been using both Pixel 3 models on a large scale since the cameras were unveiled almost two weeks ago. Even though I did not encounter this particular problem – and my attempts to recreate it did not work – Mark said that he had taken a picture with the Pixel 3 XL that he could not find afterwards.

Android Central Daniel Bader tweeted that he "had some pictures just not save after taking them, which may be some buffer issues, but maybe just bugs." Android Authority David Imel seems to have encountered the problem more frequently, sharing the "he had" several photos "taken on his XL 3 fail to record.

According to Android Authority, a Google product forum entry has been raised regarding the problem, stating that Google is at least aware of it and that a fix may be being processed. In the meantime, our best advice to the first owners of Pixel is to take your time to take pictures and not leave the camera right after shooting.
