Pixel 3 XL gives practical tips for a better screen, confirms specifications

[ad_1]

There has been an endless stream of leaks around the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL this year and just days before the event, they still do not stop. Today & # 39; hui, Engadget published at the beginning of the practical work on Pixel 3 XL which reveal some details that we did not know yet.

The best gifts for Android users

In the short practical video Pixel 3 XL, a Engadget A reporter in Hong Kong tells his time with a first unit of the camera obtained from a local retailer. It's actually the same retailer who made the escape of its packaging this week. The phone itself has been sold well above the retail price, but its IMEI is a true Pixel 3 XL. There should still be a grain of salt with that, but more or less, it's the phone we'll be getting on Tuesday.

This hands-on experience of the Pixel 3 XL gives many details about the phone we've already seen, including its design and specifications. The Snapdragon 845 is again mentioned alongside the impressive 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The journalist speculates that high-end models might have more RAM, but we have not heard much about it.

In addition, we are reviewing the retail packaging and its contents. This includes a charger, cables and a pair of USB-C earbuds. It also features features like Active Edge which on this unit actually displays the refitted Google Assistant interface.

The video also gives another look at the revamped camera, including our first look at the different camera views for front-facing shooters. Apparently, there will be three different focal lengths available from zoom in to wide angle. You can see the differences in the GIF below.

The most interesting part of this practical work, however, is the description of the screen. As everyone expected, the 6.3-inch panel is clearly OLED, but it's a better panel than the Pixel 2 XL. This is not entirely clear if the problems with the "Blue Shift" have been solved completely or it is still a panel manufactured by LG, but it is described as being brighter and "more visible in the sun". After the parody of Pixel 2 On the screen of XL, any improvement is welcome. It also appears that a different color profile is used here because the startup screen presents much brighter colors.

In the gallery below, you can see how the screen compares to the OnePlus 6. The notch is obviously much larger and deeper, but the screen also looks sharper. We can say that I would say that it looks too. This is a big problem if it turns out to be the case.

There are only a few days left before the Google event on October 9, and there is almost nothing left to hide with this device. Nevertheless, you can connect live or stay tuned here on 9to5Google for our full coverage of the launch.
