2019 will be the last year PlayStation Vita will be made in Japan, according to Hiroyuki Oda, vice president of Sony Interactive Entertainment. "Currently, we have no plans for a new portable device," said Oda. "In Japan, we will be producing the PlayStation Vita until 2019. From there, the delivery will end."
Since its launch in 2011, PS Vita has failed to sell as many units as its predecessor, the PlayStation Portable (PSP). To date, PS Vita has sold about 16 million units, against 80 million for the PSP, according to Engadget.
