We have a touch of bad news for PlayStation Vue users. Today, Sony has announced that all PlayStation Vue prices are increasing, with each package (Access, Core, Elite and Ultra) increasing by $ 5 per month. It starts on July 24th.
Sony stated the following in a statement:
On PlayStation, we are still evaluating the PS Vue service to ensure that we provide attractive value to our customers. Unfortunately, we must increase the price of our multichannel plans to keep up with the rising costs of businesses and allow us to continue to offer a better way to watch the best in sports, entertainment and live news.
Across the entire industry, similar services such as Sling TV, YouTube TV and DirecTV Now have also increased their prices recently. Broadcast TV is indeed a dirty game, and this news follows a previous story, in which the relationship between Sony / PlayStation Vue and Sinclair Broadcast Group has completely collapsed, removing any live programming related to the service.
The PlayStation Vue Access package now costs $ 45, while the Ultra package goes up to $ 80. Standalone channels and additions are not affected by bundled prices, and current subscribers will see price increases reflected in billings after July 31st.
