The integration to the TV application on iOS and tvOS has several advantages. On the one hand, it makes it easier to track new content for subscribers. With this integration, PlayStation Vue subscribers can now watch on-demand movies and TV shows via the TV app, much like apps like those offered by Hulu.
In addition, the application supports live sports. This means that future games will now appear in the "Up Next" window of the TV application, allowing users to access them directly.
As with other applications that integrate with the TV application, any PlayStation Vue content you choose, although the TV application, takes you directly through the Vue View application. -Even (via Engadget).
Other streaming TV apps have been somewhat reluctant to add support for the TV application on iOS and tvOS. For example, DirecTV Now does not integrate the Apple application, which means that users are forced to use the standalone application for all their multimedia consumption.
Apple is expected to recast its TV application with support for subscriptions next year. This means that you can subscribe to services such as HBO directly via the TV application. In addition, Apple would begin to deploy its own original content next month. Are you a PlayStation Vue subscriber? How do you like integration with the TV application? Let us know in the comments.
