Pokemon Go adds a new mythical Pokemon, but it will be difficult to get it

Pokemon Go players will soon have their first chance to add another rare Pokémon to their collection, but this one may be more difficult to catch than most. The Mythical Deoxys of the Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire versions is expected to debut in the popular mobile game, but just like Mewtwo before him, it will only be available through the EX Raids.

Unlike standard raid battles, EX raids are an exclusive type of combat that you can only join if you have received an invitation. In order to qualify for an invitation, you will have recently won a raid battle in a "qualifying" gym. If you manage to get one, you can now invite one of your Ultra or Best Friends.

The Pokemon Go developer, Niantic, says Deoxys will start appearing in the game "with the next cycle of EX raid invitations." Gymnasiums that can host the EX Raids will now be marked with a new tag when you view its details, which will make it easier for you to identify where you can find Deoxys.

Deoxys is a powerful psychic-type Pokémon, so if you receive an invitation to an EX raid, you will need to bring powerful dark types such as Tyranitar to fight it. In the main series, Deoxys can take several forms, each of which changes its appearance and amplifies some statistics, but it will appear in its normal form when it is launched in Pokemon Go. It is not known how Niantic will introduce other forms of Deoxys in the mobile game.

The legendary Mewtwo of Generation 1 was originally available only through EX raids, but it will make its first appearance in standard raid battles beginning later this week, Sept. 20, in the framework of the Ultra Bonus event. You will meet the legendary psychic guy at Gyms until October 23rd, so you will not want to miss your chance to add it to your collection as you can.
