Pokemon Go provides a double dose of events for the first full weekend of July, but only if players can complete more than 15 million fields Research tasks this weekend.
Pokemon Go travels to Dortmund, Germany for the first of three live special events. The Safari Zone event this weekend will allow Dortmund players to capture Corsola and Shiny Rosalia. Players who do not participate in the event this weekend can still participate by participating in the Global Challenge this weekend.
Safari Zone players will have to complete 100,000 Research Tasks, while players in each of the three global regions of Pokemon Go (Europe, Middle East and Africa, Americas and Asia) – Pacific) will be responsible for completing five million research tasks over the next two days. Each region will unlock a different bonus if they complete their Global Challenge by July 1st.
If the four zones (Safari Zone and three regions) complete their respective Global Challenge, Pokemon Go will hold a special Mini-Event "Articuno Day" on July 7th. Articuno will appear in Raid Battles for a three-hour window, and players will even have a chance to capture a brilliant Articuno, which has never appeared before in the game. Players will also get five raid passes to spin a Photo disc in a gym to help them participate in several raids during the event.
Players will also unlock various XP bonuses to complete the overall challenge, which will last all the last.
Articuno Day will be followed by Community Day, another three-hour mini-event in which players have the chance to capture massive amounts of Squirtle and turn them into Blastoise with a special move.
The next Global Challenge will take place on July 14th and 15th at the Pokemon Go Fest in Chicago. A third global challenge will take place later this summer.
