Limited to South Korea and Brazil to start
When I played regularly Pokemon GoI wanted there to be a way to suggest new PokéStops. Most of us have done it. Soon, Niantic will begin to test exactly such a feature (though in some areas).
Pokemon Go Players in South Korea and Brazil will be able to name PokéStops with photographs and descriptions, which will then be "reviewed by experienced users as part of the Ingress Operation Portal Recon (OPR)" project. This first beta test is limited to level 40 trainers and excludes child accounts.
In the meantime, it's interesting to see what Niantic is looking for in a potential PokéStop.
The company ideally wishes locations with "a cool story, a place in history or an educational value", a piece of art or a unique architecture "or" a hidden place or hyper local ". seasonal or non-permanent properties and suggestions are not eligible.
