Pokemon Go unveils Deoxys as the next boss of the raid EX

Pokemon Go sent a notification revealing Deoxys as the next Raid Boss EX of the game.

Several players reported receiving a notification of Pokemon Go declaring that Deoxys will be the next Raid Boss EX. EX raids are a special type of raid requiring an invitation to participate. They are the most controversial part of Pokemon Go, as players can only receive invitations while fighting during raids in specific gyms, a mechanism that most casual players face.

While some players have expressed skepticism about the first reports, a video posted on Twitter clearly shows the notification via a screen capture:

Mewtwo was previously the EX Raid Boss of the game, but Pokemon Go announced its intention to make Mewtwo available to all players later this week. Deoxys is a worthy successor to Mewtwo, as he could eclipse Mewtwo as the strongest striker of the match.

Deoxys is a Psychic Type Mythic Pokemon with four distinct shapes, each centered on a different type of stat. The four forms have been added to Pokemon Goserver earlier in the summer, although we still do not know how they will be implemented in the game. The Deoxys Psycho Boost signature move is already programmed into the game, although this is a rather disappointing attack.

Getting Deoxys should be a little easier for players who do not have the time to loot every day. A recent update of Pokemon Go allows players to share their EX Raid pass with another player, giving twice as many players the chance to fight and capture the powerful Pokémon found in raids.

Pokemon Go has not yet announced any new EX raids outside the notification. We're guessing more details about Deoxys and its various forms will be available soon.
