Pokemon Go players will soon have the opportunity to offer new PokeStops. The Niantic developer has announced that he will launch a beta version for a PokeStop nomination system – but you will only be able to participate if you live in a specific region.
The beta appointment to PokeStop will initially be available only in Brazil and South Korea. In addition, the feature will be limited to players who have reached the maximum level of 40 Pokemon Go, further reducing the list of potential participants. Niantic says that the beta will expand to other regions – and potentially more levels of trainers – "over time", but the developer has not announced any additional details beyond that.
If you live in one of the countries mentioned above and you have reached the appropriate level, you can name an area to become a PokeStop. To do this, you must submit a photo and description of the place you have in mind to Niantic. The studio will then consider the suggested Stop "for future inclusion in the game". Additional details on the process are available on the Pokemon Go Support website.
The appointment system of PokeStop is undoubtedly one of the most surprising aspects of Niantic's CEO, John Hanke, in a recent blog post. Hanke wrote that the developer was working on "even more ways to play together" that would take place this fall. The official Pokemon Go Twitter account recently revealed that "many new Pokémon have yet to be discovered," which could indicate that the fourth generation Pokémon will arrive soon.
Niantic launches the Ultra Bonus event in Pokemon Go on September 13th. For a limited time, the three legendary birds Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres will return to Raid Battles, while other Pokémon from the Kanto region will appear more frequently through the end of the month. More specifically, the exclusive Mewtwo at EX Raid will appear in regular raid battles from September 20th to October 23rd.
