Junichi Masuda has worked on all the major Pokemon games up to now, but Pokemon: Let's go, Pikachu and Eevee! will probably be the last Pokemon RPG that he directs.
Masuda published the news in an interview for the official Pokemon website. In the interview, Masuda explained how he enjoyed working on a Pokemon game for Nintendo Switch and explained how to connect this game to Pokemon Go. He also explained why he was probably moving away from the direction of the series.
"It's me who worked on the basic game concept document for Pokemon Go. Even in this original concept, I had the idea of introducing new Pokémon via the mobile game, "said Masuda. "I wanted to achieve this goal by creating games that could connect to Pokemon Go and feel a little like the latter without having the impression of copying it.In view of my involvement in the development of Pokemon Go, I thought that I was probably the best person to direct these movies.
"It was also interesting to work with Nintendo Switch.The hardware that we all tried to discover at Game Freak contains many technologies, for example, developing the Poke Ball Plus and working with Bluetooth to facilitate the connection with Pokemon Go Ce are two very interesting things that I had the chance to work as a director this time around.
"But at the same time, it's important for the younger generation of Game Freak to support the development of Pokemon as a series, and I think it will probably be the last time I've worked as a major RPG Pokemon. the director."
Masuda began working on the series by playing the role of composer for the inaugural games, Pokemon Red and Blue in 1998, before moving on to the position of assistant director with the 2000s Pokemon Gold and Silver and directorial role for Ruby and Sapphire. He recently made Pokemon X and Y.
IGN interviewed Masuda about Pokemon Let's Go earlier this month, in which he stated that he wanted children today to live an experience similar to that experienced by children 20 years ago ".
Nintendo will launch Pokemon Let's go for Switch, November 16th. Let's Go works without Switch's motion controls and introduces a new mythical species of Pokemon.
