Pokemon Let's Go Reveals the Frightening City of Lavender in a New Trailer

With Pokemon: Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee within a month of their release on Nintendo Switch, The Pokemon Company continues to spark enthusiasm for games by sharing a new trailer. Suitably for Halloween, this one focuses entirely on the most terrifying location in the Kanto area: Lavender Town.

The trailer, which you can look at above, offers a first glimpse of how the notorious village has been reinvented for the upcoming Switch games. As in the original version of Pokemon Yellow, Lavender Town is a small colony that houses the Pokemon Tower, a tall and sinister structure that houses the dead Pokemon Tombs. Naturally, the tower is haunted; as you can see in the video, her floors are enveloped in an ethereal purple haze and your poor partner Pikachu or Eevee shiver with fear as you explore.

The Pokemon Tower is also the only place in the Kanto area where you can capture Ghost type Pokémon. In the new trailer, you can see Gastly, Haunter and even Gengar fight against all the Pokemon graves. Perhaps even more remarkable, you can also hear the new interpretation of Lavender Town's strange and distinctive theme, which remains one of the most unforgettable traits of the region (and has spawned its share of urban legends).

Although Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee are based largely on the aforementioned Pokemon Yellow, they also diverge from the classic game in some notable ways. Team Rocket's Jessie and James appear more frequently during the adventure than in the original, and this time, tough coaching coaches after the match will appear in the Kanto area after defeating the Elite Four.

The Let's Go games also allow you to get a brand new mythical Pokemon, Meltan. This type of rare steel can be captured in Pokemon Go and transferred to Switch titles via the new Go Park facility. Meltan is also notable for being the first mythical Pokémon able to evolve; If you feed her enough in Pokemon Go, she will turn into Melmetal.

Pokemon: Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee will be available on Nintendo Switch on November 16th.
