Pokemon Quest is now available for free on iOS and Android devices.
The adventure game, which has been announced and available on Nintendo Switch in May, gives the familiar monsters a fresh and boxy aesthetic while they explore the island of Tumblecube.
The players begin their exploration with a Pokémon, but develop their team (you have to catch them all!) As they progress.
It's "free", so the game costs nothing in advance and relies on in-game packs.
"Players will be able to customize their Pokémon and develop a strong bond with their Pokémon friends while making their way through the adventure," wrote Shigeru Ohmori, director of developer GAME FREAK for the first release.
"With simple touchscreen controls, Pokemon Quest is a game that Pokémon fans of all ages can take and play."
The game can be downloaded from the App Store, Google Play and the Nintendo eShop.
Last week, Niantic and Pokemon announced that Pokemon Go will finally be the addition of trading in a summer update.
