Idea Factory, the developer of the Hyperdimension Neptunia series, announced a new title for PS4. At a panel at Anime Expo, the publisher unveiled the RPG Death End Re; Quest, which changes genre, which will be launched physically and digitally for the Sony console in North America and Europe in 2019.
Death End Re; Quest tells the story of video game programmer Arata Mizunashi and his colleague, Shina Ninomiya. After the mysterious disappearance of Shina, Arata discovers that she is actually trapped in a MMORPG that they developed together called World's Odyssey, and the only way for her to escape is to finish the game and unlock its perfect ending – a feat that has only 1% of success
Players will have to jump between nd real and virtual in Death End in order to unlock the mystery of the World Odyssey and help Shina to escape. The game has a turn-based combat system, but its most distinctive feature is the ability to change the game into a completely different genre during battle, such as a first-person shooter or a game of fight. Players will have to alternate between different genres to gain an advantage over enemies and bosses.
In addition, players will be able to use "Bug Skills" while exploring dungeons to discover inaccessible areas and bypass certain environmental obstacles, such as a lava pit. Players will also be able to summon some of the bosses they've already defeated in the battle to help take on even more challenging enemies.
Idea Factory has not set an exact release date for Death End Re; Quest yet, but the game should arrive early next year. In the meantime, you can watch his trailer of the ad and check a handful of screenshots of the title above.
