The PS4 Pro 72XX Series is Sony's newest iterative upgrade.
As we already mentioned, the next Red Dead Redemption 2 pack will feature a PS4 Pro from the 72XX series. This is an upgrade from the 71XX series that was launched around the same time as Spider-Man and 500 million limited edition batches.
Apparently, it is now possible to have this PS4 model before the launch of Red Dead Redemption 2, because Sony has updated its current stock of PS4 Pro hardware. Some retailers are also facing a shortage.
What's new in this hardware is not just the internal changes, as is the case for most iterative updates, but Sony also offers a little more in the form of PlayStation Logo stickers provided with the box. This definitely seems to be a new addition to the default packaging, so it is possible that it started with the 72XX series model.
PS4 Pro was launched in November 2016 and has continued to sell decently, but the real winner of hardware sales remains the PS4 Slim. Even in this case, Sony has recently updated Slim's hardware design with a new series model.
