Although we do not know when the release date of the PS5 will be announced, recent reports suggest that 2019 will be the year.
There is growing evidence that Sony and Microsoft will share big news over the next 12 months, or even launch new consoles.
Unfortunately, most of them remain unverified and are not enough in themselves to confirm when the release date of the PlayStation 5 will be revealed.
The latest Sony is that they need to develop new generation hardware, going so far as to say that there will be a PS5 to follow the PS4 and Xbox One.
Apart from the official channels, another update this week suggests that 2019 will be the year when the PS5 will be announced.
According to online detectives, Sony is looking for a senior product manager to "hold the roadmap for the next-generation PlayStation campaign."
"At PlayStation, we work at the borders of immersive experiences for our users," reads in the announcement.
"We are looking for an entrepreneur product manager to join our intelligence platform group.
"As part of this hands-on position, you will work with partners, products and engineering, and contribute to the development and growth of the PlayStation Intelligence platform.You will own the roadmap for the next-generation PlayStation campaign. . "
This would be consistent with the story that Sony will announce the PlayStation 5 in early 2019, before launching it later this year or early in 2020.
While Sony remains rather unobtrusive about its next gaming project, other sources have provided information on the expectations of next generation technology.
The director of Black Ops 4 Zombies, Jason Blundell, told Express Online what he wanted from the next generation of consoles.

Whatever happens to the PS5 technology, Sony should not make an announcement this year.
No PlayStation experience is taking place, and even if they could hold a surprise conference about it, it seems unlikely.
Sony recently provided an update on the launch of their next big exclusive, Days Gone.
The Zombie Adventure was updated in April 2019, with a statement from Sony PlayStation explaining: "We want to share a change of release date for this much anticipated title from Bend Studio.

In a new interview, AMD President Lisa Su unveiled more details about the upcoming generation change and her company's position.
