Over the weekend, several users of Reddit and ResetEra have started reporting a strange problem involving the receipt of a random message on a PlayStation Network account. This notification would freeze and "lock" their console until the factory settings are reset.
Redditor Pindabaas reported this problem for the first time last week, but the community did not take it seriously at the time. According to the user, he would have received a message containing "two symbols" that would freeze his console and allegedly gave him an error CE-36329-3 every time he tried to log into his account. However, he could log in to other accounts normally.
Yesterday, at least three users reported the same problem on Reddit only, one presenting a screenshot of what the message looks like, which prompted various publications to take notice of the reports and to contact Sony ( the company has not yet responded).
About ResetEra, many users have pointed out that this "problem" was something that iPhone users have known in the past. Redditor BorgDrone seems to explain, in simple terms, that this is a text exploit:

Until now, all victims seem to have been targeted by random accounts in the middle of their multiplayer games classified in games like Rocket League and Rainbow Six Siege.

If you receive such a message, the easiest solution is to download the PlayStation Messages application to your phone and use it to delete the message before restarting your console and attempting to connect.
