Microsoft bombed last year to ensure Battlefields of PlayerUnknown (PUBG) would be an exclusive Xbox One console for a limited time, but it looks like this window will be closed soon. Wednesday, Eurogamer spotted what appears to be an official rating for a PS4 version of PUBG on the Korean game board, may spoil an upcoming announcement that the game will migrate from the Xbox One.
While PUBG has been an exclusive Xbox One console for over a year, it was part of the Game Preview program for unfinished games until it was launched in early September. Sony does not have an early access program, so if it happens soon on other consoles, owners of PS4 will probably have the full game.
The assessment gives no indication as to the exact date we can expect to PUBG on PS4, but it is interesting to note that another leak occurred in June at the Korean Game Rating Board. Thanks to this leak, we learned that Fortnite would have come to Switch, and Nintendo has confirmed (and launched) the game at E3 2018 about two weeks after its discovery. We do not know if PUBG is on the same timeline, but it would be a good vacation surprise.
Fans of Royal Battle Games should also keep in mind that unlike Fortnite, PUBG is a premium title, running at $ 29.99 on Steam and on the Xbox Store. Provided that the game really comes to PS4, it should cost about the same. We will monitor the official announcement in the coming days and weeks.
