The Xbox One X version of Battlefields of PlayerUnknown is temporarily downgraded while the console team is working on a more permanent solution to improve performance.

While the Xbox One X would be the console expected by people PUBG to get the most out of it, framerate problems have appeared recently. Responding to players' concerns about performance issues, PUBG Corp. shared a list of changes in the community's latest release that consisted of several graphical downgrades implemented on Sept. 18 as a temporary fix until issues are resolved.

"We wanted our players to know that we are aware of the framerate issues on Xbox One X, and that it is a priority for us", PUBG announcement says. "We understand the frustration this is causing and we will deploy a fix on September 18th to implement some changes that will help solve this problem."

From reducing the quality of shadow to disabling several additional effects on Xbox One X, the publication recognized that this was not the ideal solution for Xbox One X players, but reiterated that a more permanent was in progress.

"We know that there are Xbox One X players that do not experience any framerate issues. However, these graphic changes will affect everyone who plays on the Xbox One X and we apologize for it because we know it is a lowering of graphics. This is only a temporary solution, and we wanted to do it as soon as possible to help those who were experiencing performance issues.

Another solution we are working on is finding a balance between those who want better graphics and those who prefer higher performance. Additional details were not provided with the message that more information would arrive soon, but it is likely that players will at some point have a "performance" or "quality" mode among others.
