Social media can be an incredibly powerful tool, bringing together remote people, giving users access to global information as soon as it happens, and providing a platform for an entire legion of Nintendo fans with endless drawings of Bowsette. – Fishing mashup created by the fans of Super Mario.
If you've been on Twitter these past few days – and if you're in the right circles – you'll probably have seen one or ten pictures of this new creation. An alternative version of the Princess Peach that we all know and save, this new design has been dubbed "Bowsette", due to the fact that it merges Peach and Bowser into one, a strange being.
Apparently from the Twitter user @ ayyk92, who shared the comic strip below, Bowsette is inspired by the new Super Crown – an article that must appear in New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe which turns Toadette into "Peachette". The new article caused a lot of confusion among Nintendo fans during its first presentation, and you can check it in this trailer if you have not already seen it.
Of course, such designs can spark online interest anytime, but Bowsette seems to have taken a new step with hundreds of thousands of mentions appearing online and new tweets being broadcast every second. Here are some of the images we found (but be warned – searching in any #Bowsette content online can give very NSFW results).
Nintendo will he listen to the prayers of these fans? Maybe the Super Crown will ever be able to create every Mario mashup you can think of? Or maybe it should be avoided at all costs.
