Raspberry Pi made a cheaper version of its most powerful PC

The goal of the Raspberry Pi Foundation is to make IT as affordable and accessible as possible. So today it presents a new computer to 25 USD that shares many of the strengths of its high-end device to 35 USD.

The new model, called Raspberry Pi 3 Model A +, uses the same Broadcom quad-core processor 1.4 GHz as the top model B +. It also supports Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz technologies, making it easy to use wherever a connection is established.

But some specifications have been reduced to reflect the $ 10 price reduction. There is no Ethernet port (you must use Wi-Fi), there is only 512 MB of RAM instead of 1 GB and it has only one USB 2.0 port instead of four.

That's basically the same formula that Raspberry Pi had used last time she'd introduced a lightened A + model in 2014. But there's a huge difference this time that makes the new version even more powerful: the previous A + models lacked Ethernet and Wi-Fi., so they had no way on board to get an internet connection. The Pi 3 A + has Wi-Fi, so you can think outside the box.

The Pi 3 A + is far from the cheapest Raspberry Pi computer – it was still the $ 5 Pi Zero – but this new model offers more power, connectivity and expandability. And if you're trying to buy a lot for a school, project, or product, the difference of $ 10 is a big problem.
