Red Dead Redemption 2: All we know until now

[ad_1]

Red Dead Redemption 2 is the most anticipated game of 2018 and, as it approaches October 26th, the developer Rockstar Games raises the bar by presenting more of his Wild West opus. The studio recently released a six-minute demo, featuring beautiful sequences that sum up the images and sounds of the game.

Since this is a Rockstar title, there is a lot to do. Levels of absurd detail and depth characterize the studio's work; from the critically acclaimed original game, released in 2010, to the everlasting Grand Theft Auto series. But there is also a remarkable amount of secrecy, from the intrigue of the game to its map and its places, through the most precise details of what you will do (even if we can guess).

Here's all we know so far:

It's a prequel

Eight years after the release of the original Red Dead Redemption, which was created in 1911, Rockstar takes us in 1899. This time, rather than playing as the original protagonist, John Marston, we play the role of Arthur Morgan – another member of John's old band, the Van der Linde gang. Red Dead Redemption 2 will follow the declining years of the gang's existence, the culmination of their notoriety, as they struggle against the tides of the West. As everyone who played the first game will know, the gang finally separates, and probably a big part of Red Dead Redemption 2 crescendo towards this mysterious schism.

Arthur Morgan will be in your hands

Arthur is not a character referenced in the original. Red Dead Redemptionso we do not know anything about it except what the trailers have shown so far. He is a "sniper" in the Van der Linde gang and, as such, has good relations with the gang leader, the Dutch. Much of the game's adventure will focus on knowing Arthur's relationships with wider gang members, as well as on certain important events, by deciding as a player what kind of Arthur will be. There is an extended system of honor in Red Dead Redemption 2, expect a lot of moral dilemmas to solve, with major repercussions on the wider story.

He looks huge …

It's a much larger game, denser and more geographically diverse than the original, with a gang of criminals and outlaws made for you to befriend and interact with you. The world extends over a massive area, from barren deserts and snowy passes to open mountain valleys, many of which are on display in the extensive demo. Of course, everything looks completely beautiful.

… but also profound

Much of the six-minute extended gameplay demo focused on the interactivity and depth found in the game. This ranges from free conversations with different city-dwellers and people you meet on your travels to the city. fauna ecosystem fully realized.

Hunting is vital

Hunting will play a bigger role in your activities. Not only for your own personal gain, but also for your influence on others in your camp, which is integral to the gaming experience as you run a gang of fugitive criminals. The demo stages all kinds of new activities, fishing flights, and promises that we will know more in the weeks to come.

The horses look amazing

Rockstar explained in detail how the relationship with your horse is essential to success in the West. You will create an affinity with your chosen courier, and each nag has different characteristics and benefits depending on the type of cowboy you want to be. It is obvious from the demonstration that the care and attention that has been given to the restitution of these creatures are incomparable – they evolve with a strange sense of authenticity, from their galloping pace to their little tics.

Multiplayer arrives in November

Rockstar officially unveiled Red Dead Online yesterday, but kept very limited details. We know there will be a public beta on PS4 and Xbox One in November, and we expect the online multiplayer format to be a similar, but updated and refined version of GTA: online. We're excited to see what lessons Rockstar has learned from GTA: online and how he aims to make Red Dead Online even better.

Red Dead Redemption 2 will be released on October 26 on PS4 and Xbox One
