Rockstar Games innovates with every game launch. The developer is essentially responsible for the open world games as we know them, thanks to Grand Theft Auto III. Red Dead Redemption helped reinvent the wheel, thanks to its immersion. It is therefore not surprising to learn of Rockstar's intention to improve the situation. Red Dead Redemption 2. How could the company accomplish this? Going beyond the common tropes of the open world to something much more dynamic

In an interview with Edge Magazine, Rockstar Artistic Director Aaron Garbut explained that players would not just discover the fun. Thus, fans should not expect markers, etc., to guide them from task A to task B. Instead, subtlety is used in game design, thus ensuring RDR2 works to attract and surprise players. Garbut told Edge,

A big difference for this game is to make sure that the player does not just discover fun things to do, but that the world is constantly using things in a subtle way.

A scary rattlesnake your horse, animals hidden in the woods, a campfire of a gang rival in the distance, the distant lights of the nearest city, there is always something going on. The things that happen to you when you simply hang out in the world pull you through, creating rewarding experiences in their own right. It seems real and new.

We have moved away from the typical tropes of the open world. This is not a collection of missions inside a large world filled with blips for pick-ups and mini-games. It's much more subtle and much more real. We do not think of it as a game to play. It's a place where you can get lost.

Red Dead Redemption's The influence in the game persists, especially in the wonders of the open world such as The witcher 3 and Assassin's Creed Odyssey. How will the next generation of open-world securities borrow? Red Dead Redemption 2? That's certain, once the last Rockstar launch took place in a few weeks.

Red Dead Redemption 2 arrives October 26, 2018 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Red Dead Online will be posted soon after, with a beta release in November.
