According to the latest reports, the Galaxy S10 will still be in a few months, but we already have a pretty good idea of what to expect from Samsung next February. The Galaxy S10 will be available in three versions, with new models and new features, including new tips that are not available on some of the latest flagship products.
A source with an excellent track record has also released details of the Galaxy S's next flagship product, apparently confirming what we think we already know about Galaxy S10 models.
Samsung well-known insider Ice Universe has been providing details on the Galaxy S10 for a few months, but Evan Blass has also shared his knowledge on the new phone:
In a tweet, the director announced that the Galaxy S10 would feature a "punch-hole" style selfie camera cutout on the front, which looks a lot like the Infinity-O screen that Samsung introduced the week last at the developer conference. What's interesting about this design is that it would allow Samsung to "kill" the notch and replace it with something much smaller. Senior and lower managers could be further reduced or completely eliminated.
We have already seen in concept pictures how such a design could be exciting.
That said, the design comes with a few caveats. First of all, the phone does not use Facial ID facial recognition, which requires a sophisticated range of cameras and sensors at the top. That's why iPhone X phones have rather big notches. Secondly, something that Blass also observed, the hole can pose some problems with regard to the overall user experience. The notification area is an example where the cutout may overlap text, but it may happen that Samsung has to solve potential problems related to the application.
Blass also announced that the phone would feature a built-in fingerprint sensor, which we have heard many times over the last few months. This is the kind of display technology that currently none of Samsung's competitors, which uses optical sensors on the screen.
Blass added that the phone would feature three rear-facing cameras, including standard, wide-angle and telephoto lenses. Samsung will probably not be the first company to manufacture triple camera phones, but it will be the first time that a Galaxy S handset has one.
Finally, Blass said that the Galaxy S10 would run Android Pie with a single user interface in the foreground. This is the kind of detail for which we do not need leaks. Samsung's next flagship product will surely run on Google's latest operating system, and the user interface that Samsung just unveiled at the SDC18 is perfectly suited for the company's next phone.
As for that other author of cops that keeps spoiling the secrets of Samsung, he seems to be in complete agreement with Blass.
