As you may have guessed from the above image, I have tested the MacBook Pro and MacBook Stand in Walnut. This stand offers not only a minimalist feel with its cantilevered design, but also a beautiful sculptural element with its unique blend of angular and curved lines.
Like the company's iPad booth (reviewed), this MacBook booth is certainly not a cheap deal with a starting price of $ 159. However, you get what you pay for with this premium MacBook accessory.

Materials and construction
Sustainable manufacturing is important for Yohann. The company therefore only uses wood certified by the Forest Stewardship Council of Europe and North America. This means that none of the types of wood used are in danger of extinction.
Yohann offers the MacBook Pro and MacBook Stand in walnut or oak. Production begins in a traditional carpentry workshop in northern Italy before being completed in Germany. Yohann uses a precise milling mix and manual know-how to ensure that its finished products are of the highest quality. The natural oil and wax are used to create a gorgeous finish by highlighting the walnut or oak grain and offering a very consistent and smooth feel. As part of his social commitment, Yohann is also recruiting people with disabilities at his workshop in Germany.
The only other material used, besides walnut or oak, is a thin rubber cushion that provides cushioning and grip underneath your MacBook.
in use
This stand is just a delight. By placing my MacBook Pro in the simple notch that firmly secures it, with the minimal visual and sharp it brings to my office. It's the best medium I've ever used.
As the picture above shows, without the weight of a MacBook, Yohann's base rests on the base in the air. This makes the ritual fun by placing your notebook in the notch and rolling it to rest on the base. For those who prefer to keep the mount upright all the time, you can use an external hard drive for the AirPods resting on the base to keep it as is.
Before continuing with the stand, I was curious to see how it would be supported with such a minimal design. Especially with the thin 1/4-inch (about 1/4 inch) gap between the trackpad and the machine edge of the MacBook Pro 2016 and later, it was interesting to know how much the media design could hold.
I'm happy to say that by plugging in peripherals, installing and defusing my 15-inch MacBook Pro, the rare (and rare) times I've used the keyboard of my MBP while it was elevated, it's very robust. As a warning, Yohann mentions not putting the full weight of your arms on your MacBook while you're at the booth.
With the majority of technological products and accessories using aluminum and plastic, I really appreciate the warmth and beauty of Yohann's wooden stand. Finely designed lines provide a unique, crisp look and feel.
One thing to keep in mind, when your MacBook or MacBook Pro is connected to the stand, you will not be able to completely close your screen without removing your laptop and replacing it on the stand. However, the company notes that MacBooks will always fall asleep if you close the screen as far as possible when it is on the stand. But whether or not you want to use your MacBook in clamshell mode, Yohann support lets you use your MacBook.
Another valuable aspect of this design is that, no matter which MacBook or MacBook Pro model you have, the bottom of your device presents no obstruction for optimal ventilation.
As for the height, I like that this stand raises the MacBooks a little higher than the average stand on the market. While it may vary from user to user, I found that Yohann's 7.5-inch support allows Apple laptops to feel more comfortable on a daily basis than the available 5-inch by the last support.
The only constructive criticism I thought of was to include non-slip feet or pads at the base of the stand (it's just wood). However, with the weight of my MacBook Pro, I had no problem with slipping, and the bare wood offers a stable and even base.
Conclusion
This stand is not for everyone at $ 159 for the oak version and $ 179 for the walnut variant. However, for those who are not price-sensitive and who appreciate unique, high-quality MacBook support, Yohann's offering is a first-rate choice.
