Riot Games has been charged with sex discrimination.

Current employees and former employees of video game maker Riot Games lodged a complaint against the company on Tuesday, alleging unequal pay, discrimination and a "sexually hostile work environment".
The prosecution, seeking collective action status, describes an "unwritten policy and practice of preferring men to women for the hiring, promotion and remuneration of its employees". The complainants are asking for penalties, including unpaid wages.
Riot Games and plaintiffs' lawyers Melanie McCracken and Jessica Negron did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
The complaint comes after an August investigation by Kotaku uncovered allegations of harsh working conditions in sexual harassment.
Riot Games is one of the last companies to be criticized for its hostile work environment with regard to women. Within the industry, such a work environment is listed among many reasons women leave the sector or do not want to join.
In one blog post following the Kotaku report, the League of Legends manufacturer issued an apology. "As a company, we are used to solving problems as soon as possible, but this correction will not happen overnight," said the company in August, adding that diversity, inclusion, respect and equality were not negotiable.
