Design and size

The iPhone X Plus, as you can imagine, is likely to present the same design as the current iPhone X, but in a larger format. This means that you will have an edge-to-edge display with a notch cut along the top to accommodate the necessary Face ID components.

In terms of gross dimensions, the supply chain diagrams suggest that the device will have a thickness of 157.53 mm over 77.44 mm by 7.85 mm. The simplest comparison for this device is the current iPhone 8 Plus, which measures 158.4mm x 78.1mm x 7.5mm in thickness.

As you can see, this means that the iPhone X Plus will probably be a little shorter and narrower, but a bit thicker. A handy video provides direct comparisons between the two devices, showing how each device feels in the hand and more.

Elsewhere, we should expect the iPhone X Plus to have the same glass bottom and stainless steel glasses as the current iPhone X. A report also suggested that it may come in a new gold color (as the iPhone X was intended) dual-SIM capabilities.

Display

A crucial part of the size of the iPhone X Plus will be the display. The device should contain a 6.4 inch OLED display with a resolution between 480 and 500 pixels per inch and a resolution of about 1242 x 2688. This compares to the current iPhone X to 458 PPI and the iPhone 8 Plus at 401 PPI.

The iPhone X Plus will feature an OLED display, much like the iPhone X 2017. This screen will bring darker blacks and an overall improved color compared to the iPhone 8 Plus.

While some previous reports have suggested that the iPhone X Plus would have a 6.5 inch screen, more recent schematics have docked the actual version of the usable screen to 6.4 inches. Anyway, the screen of the iPhone X Plus will be significantly larger than the screen of the iPhone 8 Plus, but it will have a footprint close to the same cut.

One important thing to note about the iPhone X Plus is that its screen will almost certainly be bigger than the iPhone 8 Plus. The iPhone X has an aspect ratio of 19.5: 9, while the iPhone 8 Plus has a 16: 9 aspect ratio more common. We should expect the iPhone X Plus to follow closely the precedent established by the iPhone X.

Power

Apple's partner TSMC recently began serial production of a 7-nanometer processor intended for this year's lineup of iPhones. This processor will likely be touted by Apple as the A12, following in the footsteps of the current A11 Bionic.

What's remarkable about the A12, is that it's the first 7-nanometer-based Apple processor, which makes it faster, smaller, and more efficient than the 10 nanometer chips.

Elsewhere, the iPhone X will probably pack 4GB of RAM, a little more than the iPhone X and iPhone 8 Plus, both of which have 3GB.

Although there have been rumors of 2018 iPhone models fully switching to USB-C, a more recent report has indicated that we will likely see Live Lightning connectivity for another year. However, this report also suggests that Apple will include a USB-C to Lightning cable in the box, as well as a USB-C wall adapter.

Camera

It is said that the iPhone X Plus has the same dual camera configuration as the current iPhone X, which means we will have a wide-angle lens and a telephoto lens for features such as portrait mode. While some initially suggested that it would be the year of a triple-lens iPhone, this does not seem to be the case.

What's not clear yet, though, is the type of technology that the two-camera installation will feature. The iPhone X swallows a 12MP camera, but at this point, it's unclear whether the iPhone X Plus will bring improvements to this.

Price

One of the scariest things for many optimistic users of iPhone X Plus was the price. With the iPhone X 2017 starting at $ 999, many have feared that the iPhone X Plus will get closer to the $ 1,500 mark.

Analysts, however, do not seem to think that's the case. An analyst suggested that due to the lack of a true "super cycle" last year, Apple will drop the price of the model from 5.8 inches to $ 899 and will start the price of the model. iPhone X Plus at $ 999.

What's important to note here, however, is that the prices of Apple products can be very difficult to predict in advance. Although hardware updates and configurations can generally be tracked throughout the supply chain, the same is not true for pricing.

According to a report, however, Apple expects the iPhone X Plus to be the most popular model that it introduces this year, even beating the more affordable 6-inch LCD model.
