Rumor: Eiji Aonuma teases Skyward Sword for Switch during a concert in Osaka

Before Breath of the Wild stirred the Legend of Zelda franchise, there was Skyward Sword. The Wii game, which has a strong focus on motion controls, is perhaps one of the most controversial elements in the series' history. Some praise his stories and others hate his frequent interruptions. Anyway, fans have been asking for an HD port for some time, and this latest rumor suggests that their wish could be granted soon.

According to the Nerd Mag, during a recent Zelda performance at the Nintendo Live concert in Osaka, Japan, producer Eiji Aonuma came on stage and said, "I know what you're waiting for – Skyward Sword for Switch. Right?"

The backup of the report is many twitter updates of those present, each mentioning the game towards Switch.

Due to the game's high dependence on motion controls, it makes sense that Skyward Sword ignored the Wii U HD processing – the original Wii controllers were optional with this system. However, with both improved motion sensors, Switch's Joy-Con is perfect for remastering.

We will be sure to keep you up-to-date on this possible project as Nintendo publishes information!
