A fan of Eagle-Eyed Eye on the video game forum ResetEra claims to have found signs that a YouTube application for the switch is imminent, claiming to point to an application list on the Nintendo of Americas website. The user, who uses the LordKano user name, shared his screenshot on Saturday, fueling speculation.

The screen capture includes the same YouTube app logo that matches the applications that Nintendo has released for its Nintendo 3DS handheld gaming system and the Switch's predecessor, the Wii U. The line also includes a line of text indicating that the application is ": 08 Nov 2018."

The list has since disappeared from the Nintendo website. When asked to comment, Nintendo remained silent and told USA TODAY: "We have nothing to announce on this subject."

While the Wii U and 3DS (and even the original Wii) have YouTube and Netflix apps, the company has so far limited the move to Hulu for its non-gaming activities.

The decision to add YouTube and other streaming applications would be welcome as Switch prepares for its second holiday season. With mobile games on smartphones and tablets that are becoming increasingly impressive, the Switch, which can be connected to play on a large TV screen or a handheld for mobile use, helps to better manage tasks. other than games to potential vacation buyers.
