RCS is the next major initiative by Google to improve messaging on Android. Today, Samsung has announced that it is working with Google to ensure that its email application works correctly with RCS and Android messages.

Announced in a press release earlier today, Samsung has revealed a collaboration with Google to ensure that its own email application, Samsung Messages, works properly with the Google app, Android messages. While many OEMs have simply chosen to replace their own SMS customers with Google's Android app, Samsung has decided to keep its own app. We are therefore pleased to see the company working with Google to ensure the interoperability of both applications.
Samsung says the collaboration will make both messaging platforms work for a "seamless" experience. Apparently, the collaboration has already resulted in the introduction of RCS to select Samsung devices, and other existing devices, such as Galaxy S8 family, will also add this feature. Samsung adds that the new Galaxy smartphones (S9, Note 8, Note 9, Galaxy A, Galaxy J, all running Android 9 and later) will support RCS, starting with those of operators supporting the standard.
By working together, Google and Samsung will ensure that their email clients, Android messages and Samsung messages work seamlessly with each company's RCS technology, including cloud and professional email platforms. Messages and users of Samsung Messages.
Anil Sabharwal, vice president of Google's Communication Products and Photos division, also points out that the company has worked with a number of mobile industry players to move the RCS forward. He says:
