Samsung concluded the two-day Developer Conference in San Francisco last night, and there were a bunch of key announcements that the South Korean giant made. Samsung released the Bixby Software Development Kit (SDK) for third-party developers, and also mentioned that the digital assistant will be available in 5 more languages. The company also showed off the much awaited foldable phone, but one of the highlights of the event was the One UI for current flagships and upcoming ones.

With the new One UI, Samsung is focusing on scalability, where it will work on small screen phones, as well as on tablets. One UI also focuses on one-handed use, making it easier to navigate on large screen phones. The One UI custom skin will be rolled out as a part of Android 9 Pie update on existing and upcoming phones.

Besides detailing the One UI features, Samsung also mentioned that it will soon be starting the Android 9 Pie beta later this month. The update will be coming to Galaxy S9, Galaxy S9+, and Galaxy Note 9 users in the US, Germany, and Korea. The update will bring the latest UI along with system-wide dark mode.

The official release of the Android 9 Pie with One UI for the compatible Galaxy smartphones will begin from January 2019. Traditionally, Samsung has mostly rolled out software upgrades after unveiling a new Galaxy S-series smartphone, and January could just be the time when we would see the new flagship phones at CES 2019. Also, as per a report on Tom Guide, the new One UI won’t be coming to the Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+ and Galaxy Note 9.
