According to a moderator of the European Samsung Forum, the company is currently working on a wireless solution for its Samsung DeX Experience system. This could help increase uptake, because at the moment, Samsung devices supporting this feature require a DeX docking station or USB Type-C dongle – only compatible with the Samsung Galaxy Note 9.
The rumor emerges after a European forum moderator from Samsung has answered a question from forum members explaining why there is no wireless solution for DeX. The moderator, known only as "ChrisM", responded to the user @blazefalconburg:[they] are working on a wireless connection for DeX, but some improvements need to be made in the first place "but" there is no timetable for the implementation of this "new technology.
It is possible that this solution requires a dongle, similar to Google's Chromecast delivery stick, allowing you to stream your Samsung phone or tablet screen without the docking station or USB Type- cable. C directly connected. a fully software-driven option.
Alternatively, this could be a kind of exclusive feature of Samsung TVs thanks to the Smart View system that works similarly, but only with Samsung smartphones and Samsung smart TVs. Even if we do not have much to do, the Samsung DeX wireless would not be the first attempt of a technological brand to implement this kind of thing before.
For those who do not know, the Samsung DeX system has many similarities with other wireless smartphone desktop solutions, such as the very own Windows Continuum. Basically, you can connect your smartphone to a monitor or display it to use an alternative user interface mimicking a desktop. Whether the average consumer is looking for desktop features on their smartphones or not is another question.
