Plus it's better – at least, that's what Samsung believes.

The Galaxy A9 is the latest mid-range phone from the Korean giant, unveiled today in Kuala Lumpur, capital of Malaysia. It has four rear cameras and one front camera, for a total of five.

If it sounds crazy, well, maybe not. After all, Huawei has exceeded imaging expectations with its P20 Pro Triple Camera ($ 730 on Amazon). So, while the Samsung Note 9 only had two rear cameras, the new A9 could well indicate what to expect for the next Galaxy S10.

Each of the four rear cameras performs a different function. The 24 megapixel f1.7 main camera is the main shooting game, assisted by an ultra-wide 120-megapixel 120-degree camera for group shots or landscapes. If you need to zoom in, the 10 megapixel telephoto lens offers 2x optical zoom, while the 5 megapixel camera serves as a depth sensor that will allow you to adjust the background blur by real time. For low-light shots, Samsung uses the 24-megapixel camera and combines four pixels into one for sharper images.

But it's not just cameras that have reminded me of Huawei's phones: the colorful A9 offers shimmering shades like the ones we've seen on the Huawei P20. (526 USD at Amazon) and P20 Pro.

The A9 is equipped with a 6.38-inch Super AMOLED display powered by an Octa-Core processor. He will have a fingerprint sensor on the back. But there is no fingerprint sensor on the screen like the one found in the new Oppo R17 (0.23 USD at Amazon) and Vivo V11.

There is also a fast charge, thanks to the battery of 3800 mAh of the A9. And if the default storage of 128 GB is not enough, you can also insert a microSD card for additional 512 GB.

The Samsung Galaxy A9 will be marketed worldwide in November. Prices have not yet been revealed.

Meet the triple camera Samsung Galaxy A7.

Samsung

Samsung also showed its Galaxy A7 at the event, despite the unveiling of the device in India last month. Unlike the A9 quad camera, the A7 camera has three rear cameras: the same 24 megapixel main camera, an 8 megapixel wide angle camera and the 5 megapixel depth sensor. This means that there is no optical zoom, but you can use the digital zoom if you really need it, as terrible as it is.

The A7 comes with a smaller 6-inch Super AMOLED display. It is powered by the Samsung Exynos 7880 octa-core processor and resists water and dust up to IP68, which means it can stay up to 1.5 m under water for 30 minutes. It will have the Dolby Atmos sound and Bixby Assistant.

Unlike the A9, the fingerprint sensor of the A7 is located on the side of the power button. This keeps the back of the phone clean.

The A7 will be on sale now in most markets. The price is not yet available.
