Although we already have confirmation that the firmware update Android 9.0 Pie will of course come in the current flagship range of Samsung, namely the Galaxy S9, the Galaxy S9 + and the Galaxy Note 9, that is there slightly older devices? At least for the Galaxy Note 8, we may have confirmation that the Korean manufacturer is already testing the Pie version of phablet last year. However, there are no other details, such as when it will be deployed, but since the flagship products are not yet updated, do not hold your breath.
According to sources, Samsung is testing the N950FXXU5DRK4 for the Galaxy Note 8. Although this does not confirm that it's fine with the Pie update, the Oreo-based firmware had the CRxx format for the last four letters of the software version. So the D in the last four letters of the updated firmware suggests that this is a major update. This is an extension and maybe just a great feature that will be deployed, but it's not unlikely that it's really Pie for the Galaxy Note 8.
It is also unclear whether this firmware will also contain the brand new One UI interface, the latest version of Samsung's famous Android skin. This will replace the Samsung experience that previously replaced TouchWiz. But the Android Authority has confirmed that it will also be deployed not only on current flagship ships, but also on the Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8 + and Galaxy Note 8.
A user interface is currently accepting enrollments to its beta testing program. It is expected that the stable version will accompany the Android Pie update early next year. As always, it will probably be deployed first on the current flagship products and it will take some time before other users can enjoy it.
When the Android pie, and later the single UI, will be deployed to Galaxy Note 8 device owners, it will determine the opportunity for its deployment for new devices. As we have seen in recent years, expect it not to be as timely.
