Samsung is delivering on its promise to bring new features to its midrange phones first.

The company announced today the Galaxy A9, the world's first quad-camera phone. The rear cameras are arranged vertically on the left side, next to the fingerprint reader.

The Galaxy A9 features a 6.3-inch Full HD AMOLED display that is edge-to-edge, but with narrow frames at the top and bottom. It is powered by an eight-core processor, consisting of a 2.2 GHz quad-core processor and a 1.8 GHz quad-core processor.

In September, DJ Koh, CEO of Samsung Mobile, announced that Samsung would launch a "middle class" strategy that would offer "technology and differentiation" to its Galaxy A range, ahead of its flagship Galaxy S and Note ranges.

The Galaxy A9 is the first product of this plan, which could help push mid-range competitors such as Huawei, Oppo and Xiaomi, while increasing mobile revenues, driven by weak sales of Galaxy Note 9.

"Building on our legacy of smartphone camera development, we are introducing next-generation technology into our entire Galaxy portfolio to give more consumers the opportunity to do the same." experience of advanced innovations, "Koh said in a statement.

"We are delighted to keep this promise and launch our first smartphone camera technology with the Galaxy A9."
