The abandoned banks arrive at the sea of thieves. But not before the end of the month. Developer Rare has postponed the release of its latest content update. Forsaken Shores, the adventure of piracy, will debut on September 27th. The DLC was scheduled for September 19 on PC and Xbox One. The studio held a beta test over the weekend before committing to a new date. But he has discovered a serious bug, and he needs time to fix it.
"Our priority is to make sure we have a stable, neat and bug-free experience that all our players can enjoy," Neate wrote in a message on the Sea of Thieves forums. "We have just spent a weekend of tests on Pioneer, which has highlighted a memory problem, which results in an unstable version where many of our pioneers have experienced failures. From our investigations, this is a complex issue that we solve, but we do not feel able to release Forsaken Shores from our players this week. "
The plan now is to find and eliminate the cause of the memory leak. Once Rare has done that, he will prepare a new test. The studio is waiting for this to be done in time for the new version.
What to expect from Forsaken Shores
Forsaken Shores is the latest entry in the free Sea of Thieves content updates. He introduces a new region called Devil's Roar. It is a volcanic land mass that could burst anytime. The volcano also causes boiling water, flying rocks and geysers. To help players meet these new challenges, Forsaken Shores is launching a rowboat. This smaller vessel holds in tighter quarters than traditional ships.
The DLC also offers players a new round of trade missions, a wider variety of foods and the ability to cook. Finally, we can stop eating raw bananas for every meal.
Finally, Forsaken Shores brings the new type of enemy Skeleton Lords into Sea of Thieves.
This is the third major release of DLC for Sea of Thieves. He previously launched The Hungering Deep in May and the Cursed Sails in July. The studio started with three separate teams all working on their own alternating updates, but has since added a fourth team. The goal is to release something like Forsaken Shores every 2 to 3 months. As long as Forsaken Shores makes its new release date, it will stay in this window. And then, the next big release for Sea of Thieves will be before the end of the year.
