Season 6 of Fortnite arrives with Invisibility and Pets

So what's up? First of all, there is the addition of new locations, including a floating island in Loot Lake, a haunted castle (can you guess where it is?), Cornfields and what what are called "corrupted areas". These spooky points will usually include a new consumable called Shadow Stone, which is a mini-cube that lets you stay invisible for a short time. During this time, you will not be able to use your weapons and you will remain invisible only if you remain motionless. If you move, you will leave behind a track capable of alerting enemy players.

Epic Games says the Shadow Stones will increase movement speed, increase the height and cancel the fall damage, but will also attach a "phase" power that will allow you to cross walls (and other objects). It will remain active for 45 seconds, but can be canceled by pressing the aiming button. Important if you must escape quickly.

To stay in the horror theme, Epic has also created new cosmetics. If you buy the Battle Pass (which remains 950 vBucks), you will immediately receive two outfits: Calamity and DJ Yonder. However, the big news is the arrival of pets; a variety of animals that can be traded as your choice of Back Bling. Official season 6 teasers show a lizard, a dog and a dragon, but there will certainly be more to unlock (and spend your hard earned virtual currency).

Although season six brings a lot of new content, some things were not suited to the world of shadows. They include impulse grenade, suppressed SMG, LMG, bouncers and C4 (or remote explosives). They will still be available in Playground mode. To balance the weapons, the grappler charges were reduced from 15 to 10, the double-barreled gun damage was reduced from 143/150 to 114/120. Double pistols – the pistol always see first by entering – will now appear less and less.

In order to separate the controllers from those who use a mouse and keyboard (commonly known as cheats), Epic will now put mouse and keyboard group players in the PC's relationship. Players can start a match with a mouse and keyboard, then switch to a controller, but they will not be able to do it in reverse.

The steps must now be more identifiable, the sounds of players coming from below now sounding more. The lower the player is, the lower the tone, and the opposite will be the case for the competitors who built themselves above you. The sounds of gliders are now more obvious, ensuring you are not ambushed by a squad coming from above.

Finally, the storm phases have been subtly modified. There will now be less waiting time between surges, but the storm will close slightly slower than before. This should motivate players to start moving sooner, possibly leading to more confrontations.

To see the magnitude of the changes, you will need to update your game repository and see all new domains, consumables, skins and emotes.
