Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice reveals the new fighting gameplay of the corrupt monk

FromSoft's next game, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, has already given rise to some tough fights, but none are as fearsome as the last to be unveiled. Meet the corrupt monk, a difficult but visually striking battle on a picturesque bridge.

The PlayStation Underground has released new images showing the fight with the corrupt monk today. The video takes us through territory that we have already seen in images of Sekiro, including the fight with the samurai general and a showdown with an ogre chained in an open court.

However, this time we can see a little further down the level. After descending the ogre chained, we watch the player come out of the lower fortress area towards a broken bridge and look towards a large castle located on the other side of a ravine. The player jumps on a tree branch to the left of the bridge and descends deeper into the snow-covered ravine.

Once he has arrived on a ledge, the screen begins to growl and a huge white snake appears, emerging from a chasm in the ravine. After a few quick legs and a grappling hook, we arrive in a cave, with a suspicious wall in the back.

This is a secret passage that leads to a whole new area. It is a sunny bridge covered with red autumn leaves, with a light light that runs through the trees to create a beautiful and peaceful scene.

Naturally, this feeling of peace is ephemeral. Here, the player is confronted with the corrupt Monk, an imposing figure draped in flowing robes and brandishing a massive naginata – a sword weapon surmounted by a curved sword blade.

Here is the video. The new material starts around 6:24.

The fight with the corrupt monk looks like a difficult fight, and you will need until now all the skills you have acquired in Sekiro. The boss also has several phases, including one where it drops shadows around the player and actually becomes invisible, rushing to hit behind smoky black appearances.

The release date of Sekiro: Shadows Die is set for March 22nd and will be released on PC with the consoles.
