Senran Kagura Burst Re: Newal is delayed in the West to remove the "Privacy Mode" from the PS4 version
"We respect the wishes of the holder of the platform," says the publisher.
XSEED Games has delayed the launch of Senran Kagura Burst Re: Newal in North America and Europe from the release window scheduled for the fall, in order to remove the "Privacy Mode" from the PlayStation 4 version at the request of Sony Interactive Entertainment, announced the company in a statement. As long as the mode remains in the PC version, both versions are late.
"The release of Senran Kagura Burst Re: Newal will be slightly delayed when redesigning the PlayStation 4 version of interactive 'Intimacy', "said XSEED Games in a tweet. "The Steam version will come out with this mode intact and will be launched simultaneously with PlayStation 4. We look forward to sharing the release date soon and we thank you for your patience."
In one follow-up tweet, the company said: "We respect the wishes of the platform owner." In this case, the platform's owner is Sony Interactive Entertainment.
XSEED Games location producer Tom Lipshultz said in a tweet Although previous entries in the series have allowed this mode for the Western version, the removal of this game is due to "a brand new policy" from Sony. Lipshultz added that he believes that "it is the interactivity in general, it is the problem".
It should also be noted that the official Twitter account of ToeJam & Earl: Back in the throat! replied on the tweet of XSEED Games, saying "the same thing happened to us", but did not specify.
This is not the first time that Sony Interactive Entertainment is affecting the release of a game on its platform in the west of the country. The west exit of Omega Labyrinth Z, a game featuring several erotic elements involving young girls, was canceled by the publisher PQube to "comply with the wishes of the holder of the platform".
