The release of Senran Kagura's Burst Re: Newal on PlayStation 4 was delayed after Sony asked the publisher to remove its Intimacy mode.

Senran Kagura Burst Re: Newal is an anime-style video game about high school ninjas whose clothes are torn. It is classified PEGI 16 in Europe "for erotic activity and use of the sexual expletive". Intimacy mode in question allows players to shoot down girls. This is essentially a mode reserved for aggressive minor girls.

The announcement came from the Twitter account of XSeed, the publisher of the game in the United States. Senran Kagura Burst Re: Newal is published by Marvelous Europe and distributed by PQube on November 16, 2018, the PS4 release should be available. According to XSeed, the planned version of Steam will be released with intact Intimacy mode, and both versions launch simultaneously.

The situation with Senran Kagura Burst Re: Newal revives memories of the adult cartoon game Omega Labyrinth Z, which was to be released in the West by PQube before its release was blocked by Sony.

In a tweet, Xseed location producer, Tom Lipschultz, responded to a fan who asked why the Intimacy mode had become a problem now that it had been integrated with Senran Kagura's old games published on PS4 in the UK. West saying "it's a brand new policy" at Sony.

Lipschultz then suggested that Sony's problem with Intimacy mode had less to do with the younger characters than with the mode's interactivity.

Looks like Sony is about to clean video games on PS4. In March, he announced the launch of the game "Pick-up artist", Super Seducer, a few days before its planned launch on PS4. Then Omega Labyrinth Z was canceled and now, Senran Kagura Burst Re: Newal had to be changed to get the release.
