California has filed a lawsuit against a group of individuals who allegedly stole more than a million dollars from Apple Stores throughout the state. Seventeen people were reportedly involved in the robbery ring: seven people were arrested earlier this week, one is detained and the others are still on the run.
The group's strategy was simply to run in hooded sweatshirts, grab as many billboard products as possible and leave. Each flight took only a few seconds and in some cases the group was able to recover more than $ 20,000 worth of goods.

These California-based Apple Store flights have occurred in recent weeks. Three men involved were first identified on 12 September after police sued suspects in a vehicle chase, and were surprised after hitting their car twice, then tried to run after abandoning the car .
"Organized retail theft costs millions of California business owners and exposes them to imitating criminals. In the end, consumers pay the cost of this misappropriation of merchandise, "California Attorney General Xavier Becerra said in a statement. "We will continue our work with local law enforcement authorities to extinguish this popular mentality and prosecute these criminals to hold them accountable."
