SEGA was perhaps not ready to reveal the release date of the remasters Shenmue I & II . However, it seems that others were not on the same page with the publisher or simply could not hold their water. Entries on the European PlayStation Store appeared early this morning, revealing the package for Shenmue I & II will arrive on August 21st. The collection will be launched in the United States on August 20th. But the PlayStation Store is not solely responsible for the release date, ahead of schedule. At the time of writing these lines, the remaster does not appear on the US PlayStation Store. Still, preorders are live on the EU store and other platforms. Shenmue I & II followed Ryu Hazuki in 1986 when the murder of his father led him to hunt for answers and revenge. These two classics are considered among the greatest games of all time. So, winning them the remaster treatment has been a long time coming. Fortunately, the story continues in Shenmue III . However, this new adventure will take place without the help of SEGA. The creator of the series Yu Suzuki develops the game independently
Shenmue III is currently without official release date, but will arrive in 2019.
