Despite the fact that the original shows had not found the expected success of Snapchat, this year, the company decided to continue its momentum. Last May, Snapchat presented Spectacles V2, which proposed some new features to try the holdouts that may not have taken the step with the first version. Despite these adjustments, V2 Shows featured a design essentially similar to the original.
There were, of course, some minor changes to the design. Snapchat has given Spectacles a slimmer profile for its V2 debut, and has even equipped them with water resistance for more flexibility when shooting photos and videos. Still, the aesthetic was essentially the same, which may have been disappointing for those who wanted their glasses to look more like a traditional pair of sunglasses.
Today, Snapchat has launched two new versions of Spectacles for these consumers. These new models are called Nico and Veronica and, as Snapchat describes them, they are supposed to combine form and function. Unlike the original Spectacles V2 glasses, Veronica and Nico are not available in different black-on-black colors, and both look more like a standard pair of sunglasses than the original model.
Veronica and Nico look like great additions to the Spectacles range, but there are a few things to consider before choosing a pair. The first is that both models can be charged only with the Charging Cable Shows, since none is compatible with the charging case. The second is that they cost $ 50 more than a standard pair of glasses, $ 199.99.
Assuming these warnings do not bother you, you can get Nico and Veronica from Spectacles.com today. Snapchat also claims that its flagship application will soon be able to organize the snapshots you capture with Shows in a highlight, although this feature only arrives later this fall. We will stay tuned to find out when this feature will be launched, so stay tuned for that.
