When Square Enix first announced Dragon Quest XI in 2015, the company also announced the release of a version of the Nintendo NX. While the game completed its launch on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo 3DS in Japan, the port of Nintendo Switch, recently released, remained discreet. Even when Dragon Quest XI was launched for PC in North America and Europe, Switch fans were still waiting for a note on their version.

Today, at the Tokyo Game Show, Square Enix has confirmed that Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of a Elusive Age always arrives on Nintendo Switch, but under a slightly different name. The new version is Dragon Quest XI S, according to a tweet by Takashi Mochizuki of the Wall Street Journal.

There is still no release date, and no indication of the style of Dragon Quest XI S game. The PlayStation 4 and PC version of the game presents a complete 3D presentation, while the 3DS version in Japan offers a 2D and 3D hybrid presentation.
