Sunset Overdrive mouse controls are terrible

Sunset Overdrive should be the perfect PC game. Released for the first time on Xbox One in 2014, this is a great allusion to the open world that crushes the exaggerated and futuristic exaggerated system of movements of Jet Set Radio with a multitude of strange guns.

As a memorable shooter that throws hordes of enemies at the player in all directions, you must be able to aim accurately while squeaking, running, bouncing or any absurd combination of the above. Perfect. Easy. The mouse was made for that. A generous autopilot system was included in the original version of Xbox One to compensate for the lack of speed and accuracy of the joysticks, which fueled the hope of an ultimate PC version with the perfect and eternal mouse goal that we love so much.

Bummer, because the control of the mouse is completely interrupted in the PC version. I'm sorry to say that the controller is currently the best way to play Sunset Overdrive, a PC shooter.

The goal of the mouse seems to be related to a virtual gamepad rather than the perfect 1: 1 pixel goal that we consider the norm. It's hard to say exactly how mouse entries are read and interpreted without a peek under the hood, but it's obvious that something is wrong. The direction in which I move the mouse suggests a direction in the game, causing jerky and rigid movements. And since the input of the mouse is probably filtered through an emulated handle, the aiming speed of the cursor is also limited. Move your mouse as fast as you like, but this slider can only move at the programmed speed. Increasing the sensitivity of the mouse helps a little, but exacerbates jumps and jumps. Try not to vomit.

This is not to denigrate players who prefer a joystick, but accessibility goes both ways. Mouse control is the preferred method of many people, and so it goes without saying that a PC version of any game including and benefiting from a mouse lens should not shit the bed in this regard . I started with an unweighted number of frames per second because it is an old game that was launched on obsolete hardware. So I figured that if the option was included, it would mean that I would be able to break 60 fps easily. Not so.

There may be something wrong with the uncapped ink flow settings right now, because I have a proper platform and the frame rate is still stuck around 60 without a lot of significant hollows. With the frame rate released, I predict fluctuations, but this has not been the case. Mouse targeting also seems to be affected by framerate, as jumps are particularly bad without heading.

During the second half of the video, I limited the number of frames per second to 60 frames per second in the game settings. Even though the goal of the mouse was still rigid and artificially, cursor movements were generally more fluid. If you absolutely must play with a mouse and you can not wait for a potential fix that allows for a raw mouse input, limit it to 60.

Just to make sure I did not see things, I tried mouse control on another PC with a better graphics processor and processor, while by having exactly the same problems. Uncapped image processors were still stuck at around 60 frames per second and gave the same choppy mouse lens.

The first reviews of Steam echo my problems, although some players are more willing than me to cope with vertigo.

It's a big disappointment because we are talking about Insomniac games. These are the developers of the Ratchet and Clank games, a series known for creative weapon types and it's our first chance to use a mouse to play with them.

One of the first guns you shoot triggers a series of recordings that ricochet off surfaces and bounce between bad guys. Later, you'll get a Bowling Ball Launcher named The Dude and another one that deploys Corrosive Acid Sprinklers.

Irreverence is also found in the rest of the presentation. The villains are party goers who drink hot soda made by a silly company that turns them into zombies. The characters are introduced with spectacular startup screens and jokey slogans. Brash guitar riffs accompany almost every action.

Sunset Overdrive is one of those games, a satire of pop culture on the surface of that of Borderlands that uses street art and self-digest memes to establish its blinding identity, to love or hate it. It's so complacent that I can not help feeling the first one.

My stupid desire to take a bath with bad jokes and coarse colors makes the mouse control problems all the more tragic. How can I really appreciate the dated references of Breaking Bad if I already feel uncomfortable with bad mouse commands? Hope that a solution is coming soon.
