The US subsidiary of T-Mobile launched the iPhone and iPad leasing for businesses on Wednesday, an option in cooperation with Apple Financial Services.
A company activating 25 or more lines can rent Apple devices with reduced monthly payments and no upfront price, said T-Mobile. According to this arrangement, an entry-level iPhone 8 costs $ 43 per month, including an unlimited data plan of $ 25.
To encourage its adoption, T-Mobile covers the first $ 100 of each device rented for a limited time.
Leasing has two main benefits for businesses. It turns phones and tablets into investment expenses and also allows for inexpensive annual upgrades, which is essential as products like the iPhone X reach the $ 1,000 mark.
IPhones and iPads have become a staple in many workplaces in the United States, not least because of the popularity of workers. This has also been fueled by Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) initiatives and greater flexibility in the choice between iOS and Android.
The program comes ahead of Apple's September 12 press event, where the company is expected to unveil three new iPhones and updated iPad Pro.
