Up to now, Sprint was the only US operator to offer universal support for RCS's next-generation text messaging, thanks to Google Jibe. This means that only Sprint allowed its subscribers to use the latest texting technology for inter-carrier messaging. While T-Mobile allowed its subscribers to inform each other with the latest technology, a CTO tweet from the carrier, Neville Ray, indicates that T-Mobile has started to deploy GSMA Universal Profile 1.0. The update will allow T-Mobile subscribers to participate in group chats of up to 100 people, and upload files up to 100 MB in size.

Some on Twitter wanted find out when Google Pixel devices might receive updates. Ray replied by tweeting: "We have established links with Google and we will interconnect our solutions as soon as Google is ready, but there will be no ETA at the moment. As soon as T-Mobile starts to update other handsets, we will let you know as soon as possible.
