We have another big leak problem that hit the airwaves today. This time it is the Google Pixel Slate, which should not make its official debut for a week. He joins the Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL, third generation Chromecast and Google Home Hub as the last leak on Mountain View.
This time, MySmartPrice got what appears to be official press images of Pixel Slate, developed under the code name Nocturne. According to the publication, the device – as noted earlier – will have a fingerprint sensor along its top edge (when it is oriented in landscape mode). The rather minimalist design also includes two USB-C ports and front stereo speakers. We can also clearly distinguish a webcam located above the screen.
The renderings show that Pixel Slate will be available with two accessories (although it is not known if either will be standard equipment). The first is an active stylus, similar to that available for the Pixelbook. The other accessory is a detachable keyboard that attaches to the bottom of the slate with what appears to be pogo pins. In contrast to the more traditional keyboard design, there are circular keys instead of the usual square keys we are used to. Below the spacebar is a generously sized trackpad. The keyboard also contains a dedicated key to call Google Assistant.
Although these renderings give us a good general overview of what to expect with the device is unveiled on October 9th, there are still a lot of unknowns at this point. For example, what is the size of the display, what is the screen resolution and what is the aspect ratio?
Perhaps more importantly, which processor will run the show? Will Google use an ARM processor or will it use one of the Intel offers for maximum compatibility? Since Google would work with the dual boot functionality of Chrome OS / Windows 10, we probably think that Google is associated with it.
